Just wrote and recorded this tonight. It’s called “(She’s a) Neutron Star.” A tip of the hat to The Smiths, Teenage Fanclub and my friend, from whom I stole the last line of the last verse.
(She’s a) Neutron Star
You cut your ear off in a dream
But you did not, did not send it to me
That’s alright, well I don’t care, yeah I don’t care, I don’t care
Who needs such a scare for love
And around and around and around and around she goes
She’s a neutron star
She’s a star
Your gravity it pulls me down
But you float like a feather in your gown
Graceful and beguiling, never had such a nervous fling
Yeah you, you do something to me
And around and around and around and around she goes
She’s a neutron star
She’s a star
Under the moon, we stare at the tides, and we laugh and laugh ‘til it hurts inside
They never can stop dancing, they’re just like you
If the script was mine to write, you’d have loved me at first sight
But it is what it is, and that is that it isn’t
And around and around and around and around she goes
She’s a neutron star
She’s a star
